Luxexpo The Box has entrusted the redesign of its website thebox.lu to Vanksen.
With the launch of its new website thebox.lu, Luxexpo The Box reaches a new milestone in its digital transformation journey.
This article presents Luxexpo The Box’s CSR materiality assessment, carried out to identify the environmental, social and governance issues that matter most to the company and its stakeholders. Involving 34 participants and covering 17 key issues, the assessment highlights four main priorities and lays the foundation for a concrete roadmap towards more responsible and sustainable events in Luxembourg.
Environmental transition, customer experience, employee well-being, governance, safety… At Luxexpo The Box, there is no shortage of CSR challenges.
The real challenge is not identifying them all: it is knowing which ones to prioritise.
This is exactly what our CSR materiality assessment is about. Conducted between April and June 2026 with stakeholders from across our ecosystem, its aim was to listen, understand and prioritise so that we can take more effective action. In this article, we share our approach, our findings and, above all, what this assessment means in practical terms for Luxexpo The Box.
According to the French government's CSR Portal, a materiality assessment involves identifying and prioritising the environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues that matter most to an organisation, by considering two perspectives: that of the company itself and that of its stakeholders. This principle, sometimes referred to as “double materiality”, is also at the heart of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
In other words, rather than trying to address every CSR issue at the same time, a company identifies the ones that matter most to both the organisation and its ecosystem, allowing it to focus its efforts where they can have the greatest impact.
Because we cannot tackle everything at once. At Luxexpo The Box, we did not wait for a regulatory requirement to take action: we see CSR as an opportunity rather than a constraint. But to make meaningful progress, we first need to know where to focus our efforts. The materiality assessment allows us to take a broader view and answer one essential question:
Which issues matter most to Luxexpo The Box and to the people and organisations around us?
It gives us an overall view of our strengths, the areas that require attention, the opportunities we can seize and the risks we need to anticipate. And to make sure this picture is as accurate as possible, we did not carry out the assessment alone.
Our ambition: to focus our efforts where they can have the greatest impact.
A CSR strategy cannot be developed in isolation. That is why we consulted 34 people from across our ecosystem, divided into three key groups:
Our Board of Directors
To provide a strategic perspective and help shape our overall direction.
Our partners, clients and suppliers
To compare our perspective with the expectations and realities of our external ecosystem.
Our employees
To understand and prioritise the issues together with the people who bring Luxexpo The Box to life every day.
This collaborative approach allowed us to bring together different perspectives and define priorities that genuinely reflect the expectations of our ecosystem.
For each of the 17 issues identified, we considered two perspectives: its strategic importance to Luxexpo The Box and its importance to our stakeholders.
The principle is simple: the further an issue appears towards the top right of the matrix, the higher its priority for both Luxexpo The Box and our stakeholders.
This assessment allows us to move from a long list of CSR issues to clear priorities that can guide our decisions and actions.

1: Overall safety, infrastructure resilience and risk management
2: Data protection, cybersecurity and IT governance
3: Business ethics and transparency
4: Customer feedback and audience satisfaction

01. Governance & strategic management
Moving forward in the same direction.
Clarify roles and responsibilities, strengthen coordination and build a strong, shared strategy to improve our ability to take action.
02. Safety & resilience
Anticipating risks to better protect.
Strengthen preventive measures throughout our events and identify the main risks associated with our activities and infrastructure.
03. Employee feedback & experience
Because our teams are at the heart of our success.
Create an environment that encourages employee feedback and engagement, helping us maintain the quality of our services, improve our performance and strengthen our ability to adapt.
04. Customer feedback & audience satisfaction
Listening so we can keep improving.
Develop a more structured approach to listening to our customers and audiences in order to anticipate their expectations, continuously improve their experience and strengthen their loyalty.
From analysis to action: our CSR roadmap. Identifying our priorities was the first step. Now we need to turn them into action.
Our roadmap is built around four key strategic areas:
This assessment gives us a clear direction. But it is only the beginning. It marks the starting point of an approach that we want to be practical, collaborative and built to last.
A big thank you to our employees, Board members, partners, customers and suppliers who shared their perspectives and contributed to this process. Thanks to their input, we now have a clearer understanding of where to focus our efforts and how to move forward.
Our ambition remains clear: to make Luxexpo The Box a leading player in responsible events in Luxembourg. Step by step, together with our teams and all our stakeholders, we aim to build a more sustainable events industry that creates value for everyone.
